The EMA Board
After a career in business accountancy with major organisations including BP and Hertfordshire County Council, I took early retirement in 2011 and joined the EMA as treasurer when the post fell vacant soon afterwards. Living in Waltham Cross since 1986 I have close family links with the Ukrainian and Italian communities in the area, and maintain voluntary roles with several local organisations.
I have lived and worked in Waltham Cross since 1986. During that time my career has cut accros the health sector, where I worked as a Community Midwife and later as a Practice Nurse. Due to the nature of my profession coming in contact with various people of different ages, gender, lifestyles and ethnicities, I have as a result, sought to be actively involved within the community and volunteer sector for over half of my residency in Waltham Cross. Presently I am involved and sit on various local committees and organisations, now I am now retired while I still find time to remains actively involved within the community.
I'm a mother of two lovely girls and have lived in Waltham Cross for nine years. Living in Broxbourne my two daughters and myself have all benefited from the vast range of activities there are to do in the community and its surrounding areas. With six years experience as a Community Fundraiser for St. Joseph's Hospice in Hackney, i have continually volunteered for a number of local, community based projects that help both the young and elderly. After meeting one of EMA Broxbourne's representatives at a speed-volunteering event being run at the local church, who was looking for a secretary to assist in effectively communicating the aims and intentions of the group, I joined the group and took up the challenge as its new Secretary, as a way to enhancing the skills I had already gained before I started my family. Outside of my secretorial role I have a keen interest in art, craft, photography and spiritualism.
